Lasted a Couple Weeks, Sort of ..

  by Arthur (newegg.com) - Dec, 2011

Location didn't matter. Inches or feet from the antennas on my routers - showed great signal strength in all cases. (Meanwhile, a laptop maintained a connection in the next room.) Router irrelevant: old workhorse, stock linksys wrt54gl (Great Unit! -...

Didn't install too hard. Doesn't really fit well, as others have mentioned, but i went in ; Nice antenna length ; When it worked, good speed with either of my mentioned routers. Even worked without antenna when near (~<15') ; Another exercise in...

Wouldn't hold a connection after about a week. - Endless "Disconnected" , "Connecting", "Connected" messages - connected for about 5 seconds. (max) ; It's dropped by Newegg, so not going to bother with an RMA dance. - Another $20 down the toilet ; Not...

Works perfectly ; Very long cord (sometimes a hassle) ; Drivers were easy to find ; Installing it was simple

It didn't fit a smoothly as i wanted it to. This is mostly likely due to my cheap motherboard and case

Speed PLUMMETS after a while

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Sep, 2011

I would NOT recommend this card to anyone. My router is a WRT54GL with dd-wrt. I have the latest drivers installed and tested with XP and Windows 7. I even tried it with older drivers and got the same result. I changed the transfer speed from "Auto"...

Cheap. Detachable antenna

After start up, the product works for a while. The length of time varies ; Then, the receive speed suddenly plummets from 55 Mbps to 5 Mbps and does not recover. This affects internet performance as well as network performance ; You are able to view...

This card works, my girly friend uses the same card.

Easy Setup ; Strong signal, never loses a connection ; Plays nice with my still kicking WRT54G ; Cheap

None, this was a perfect solution and it was dirt cheap when purchased

Good piece of gear

  by anonymous-337 (newegg.com) - Mar, 2011

This card was purchased to provide wireless connectivity for an older PC that runs both W2K and Slackware Linux 13.1. The card installed easily and cleanly under both operating systems, and, so far, has exhibited good performance (connects quickly and...

A very minor point - the external antenna could do with some way to optionally attach the antenna base to a flat surface, such as holes for mounting screws, or ; a replaceable double-sided adhesive tape. The antenna base just doesn't have enough mass...

Works great

Don't use the CD that comes with it. Google for "EDIMAX EW-7128G drivers" (first link at the time of this writing).

Cheap, does its job for basic stuff. I can stream DVD folders and ISOs off this card on my home network easily

It's a bit lacking for HD MKVs though

Separate antenna. Cheap

Caused random BSOD for me when playing WoW (3x). Disabled card after first crash since that was the only thing that had changed. Still crashed. Removed card and uninstalled software. Crashes stopped
